strategy & build for
Feral Funk
Duane, an established DJ with a deliberately genre-agnostic identity, performing as DJ Dirty D.
Context
Duane has two decades behind the decks across clubs, festivals, and stages abroad, but his catalogue and audience lived on platforms he didn't control. The site needed to serve two audiences at once — bookers judging his range in seconds, and fans arriving from short social clips — without diluting either.
Approach
The real problem wasn't a website; it was channel ownership, so the strategic spine was to make the site his home base and use social snippets purely as hooks driving people back to a place he owns. I built one unified site from the strongest elements of two competing prototypes, led with identity before proof before conversion, and made the booking form actively qualify enquiries — designed to repel the wrong work as much as attract the right.
Outcome
The site is live at feralfunk.com, giving Duane a single owned destination that asserts a coherent identity and turns twenty years of credibility into an active booking channel.
